CORRECT
BILLING INFORMATION IS THE KEY
TO PROMPT PAYMENT OF INSURANCE CLAIMS
- Your insurance claim is
only as good as the billing information you provide at the time
of your office visit.
- If your insurance coverage
changes you need to notify the billing office and provide a
copy of your card.
- If you receive a new card
from your current insurance company you need to provide a copy
to the billing office - there may have been a change that will
affect your claim being accepted.
- You need to be specific
about who is the insurance policy holder and which family members
are covered under the policy.
- If you have more than one
insurance you need to specify which coverage is primary and
which is secondary for each family member.
- Be sure you notify the billing
office of any address change and verify that all social security
numbers and birth dates are correct.
REMEMBER: it is
your responsibility to see that claims are paid when medical service
is rendered. Your insurance policy is an agreement between you
and your insurance company to pay medical claims in a manner you
have agreed upon. Take the time to be a knowledgeable and responsible
consumer.
